Marketing and Communications Coordinator (summer contract)

Position Summary
OYA Black Arts Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Black artists, creators and entrepreneurs within the entertainment sector. Our programs provide mentorship, networking, and essential skills training to post-secondary graduates of film, television, and digital media programs to kickstart their careers and increase employment opportunities. We also offer services to mid-career filmmakers/artists fostering the development, production and/or distribution of their projects, and to increase the number and capacity of Black Entrepreneurs within Ontario
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager. An integral part of this position is marketing communications planning, strategy and execution, budgeting and community relations.
Responsibilities
- Help develop and execute the marketing communications and PR plan for the Organization and its programs
- Collaborate to set targets, monitor and report, and ensure timelines are met
- Allocate marketing budget
- Oversee the creation and consistency of all marketing materials across channels
- Develop content for print, web and social media Design and produce marketing materials
- Lead SEO, email, social media, and content marketing campaigns
- Grow social media presence and liaise with public relations
- Update and maintain the website and social media channels
- Ensure brand consistency across all platforms
- Co-manage promotional events with the Operations Manager and Program Manager
- Coordinate with the Social Media and Graphic Design Coordinator
- Write press releases and liaise with media
- Oversee and contribute to content and design the organization's biweekly newsletter
- Any other duties as required
Professional Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Marketing or Public Relations
- 5+ years’ experience in graphic design utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud
- 3-5 years’ experience in social media marketing
- Knowledge of design best practices and principles
- Experience writing strategic plans, marketing and content plans
- Expertise in Wordpress, or similar website management applications
- Experience with Shopify e-commerce platform an asset
- Ability to develop timelines and budgets
- Project management demonstrated capability
- Proficient in CRM platforms including Hubspot
- Experience in Google Suite, Asana, Doodle, Survey Monkey
- Proficient prioritization, organizational and communications skills
- Excellent time management and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests efficiently
- Excellent and responsive problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a member of a team
- High degree of confidence in using information technologies and new software applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have experience/knowledge of either digital media, the film/television industry, multimedia or visual arts training

Compensation
$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
