Digital Asset Management Assistant

35 hours per week, onsite in Leslieville, Toronto

OYA Black Arts Coalition (OBAC) is a non-profit organization and registered charity dedicated to supporting Black artists, creators and entrepreneurs within the entertainment sector. Our programs provide mentorship, networking, and essential skills training to post-secondary graduates of film, television, and digital media programs to kickstart their careers and increase employment opportunities. We also offer services to mid-career filmmakers/artists fostering the development, production and/or distribution of their projects, and to increase the number and capacity of Black Entrepreneurs within Ontario

Position Summary: Digital Asset Management Assistant
Reports to: Senior Manager, Operations

This role will help organize and archive OBAC’s digital assets to preserve institutional memory, support alumni engagement, and enable future program and communications initiatives. This is an ideal role for youth with an interest in digital media, archiving, and impact storytelling.

NOTE: This position is funded in part by the Canada Summer Jobs program. Candidates must be between 15 and 30 years of age and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a full inventory of OBAC’s digital media assets
  • Organize and categorize archival photos, videos, and other creative materials
  • Develop and apply metadata, naming conventions, and folder structures
  • Migrate and clean existing files, removing duplicates and outdated content
  • Select media for alumni engagement and strategic communications
  • Prepare an internal digital asset management guide for staff
  • Support basic media optimization such as cropping, compression, formatting
  • Present a summary report for supervisor

Qualifications

  • Have an interest in digital media, archiving, library systems
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail
  • Have experience using digital file systems and cloud storage

Compensation

$25.00 per hour
